By 2050, Saanich is 100% powered by renewable energy and is a resilient, thriving community, where climate action has improved the quality of life for all people in Saanich. The plan goals include: cutting greenhouse gas emissions in half by 2030 and to net zero by 2050; transitioning to 100% renewable energy by 2050; and preparing for a changing climate. People and organizations in Saanich are healthy and resilient in a changing climate and empowered in taking climate action. Climate action benefits people in Saanich, helping them be more prepared for a changing climate and connected to the natural environment and their community.
